As a research technician, Trevor is currently innovating ultra-low-cost air quality monitoring technology and helping to develop an educational program specialized towards engaging High School students with air quality data gathered through this technology. In addition to his responsibilities within the lab, Trevor has a passion for communicating air quality data through his non-profit, Tri-State Air Quality, focusing on the Delaware, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania regions.
Before joining Columbia University in 2020, Trevor was a combat specialist with the 101st Airborne and 1st Armored Divisions, where he deployed to East Africa in support of the Ethiopian Army. It was during his time in the military that he noticed degraded air quality in El Paso, Texas as well as in East Africa. As he exited the military and came home to New Jersey, Trevor noticed degraded air quality at his home and sought out the advice of Dr. V. Faye McNeill. His work under Dr. McNeill led him to the Westervelt Aerosol Group where he continues his work advocating for clean air and increased air quality monitoring.
