Paulson joins the group as a PhD student based primarily at UM6P. He is working on air pollution epidemiology studies in major African cities in Morocco and Democratic Republic of Congo. He has collaborated with the Westervelt group for several years including on past projects in Kinshasa.
At the Community level, Paulson is the
Founder and Leader of WASARU (Link
to website: https://wasaruwash.org/), an
environmental community initiative run
as a local organization based in
Kinshasa, DR Congo. WASARU promote
community engagement, clean air and
open data actions across sanitation, air
quality, and climate. The WASARU
impact is increased community
engagement through outreach campaign
for school children and within community
to raise public awareness about the
dangers of air pollution and to enable the
citizenry to act accordingly to protect
their health and policy-makers to take
appropriate measures.
