East and West Africa Air Quality Community of Practice

Our specific goals are threefold: 1) to establish a mutual exchange of knowledge and data between all project partners and key actors in East African cities; 2) develop  innovative curricula for an air quality management certificate program which will train current policymakers, administrators and other key actors as well as more specialized learning materials for the next generation of East African scientists; and 3) build on and help coordinate efforts to co-produce key building blocks for Air Quality Management Plans (AQMPs) in each city and co-implement an AQMP for at least one East African city. We also plan to deploy a moveable Federal Equivalence Method (FEM) PM2.5 monitor and up to 25 low cost sensors in East African cities.
